Our client is a fast-growing non-bank lender providing flexible funding solutions to small and medium-sized businesses across Australia. With a strong reputation in the broker channel, the business is expanding and seeking a driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to originate new business loans via broker networks.
The Role
As a BDM, you will be responsible for sourcing and originating SME loans up to $2m, working closely with commercial finance brokers to provide tailored lending solutions for their clients. You’ll manage the full deal cycle from initial engagement through to execution, while building strong relationships across the broker network to drive consistent deal flow.
This is a highly commercial, client-facing role where you will be rewarded for results and have the opportunity to be part of a growing, entrepreneurial lender.
Key Responsibilities
Originate new SME lending opportunities (loans up to $2m) via the broker channel.
Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial finance brokers.
Assess and structure loan opportunities, ensuring high-quality submissions.
Collaborate with internal credit and operations teams to deliver timely funding solutions.
Represent the brand at industry events and broker forums.
About You
Proven experience in business development within non-bank lending, commercial finance, or banking.
Strong broker network and the ability to build trusted relationships quickly.
Sound understanding of SME lending products and credit processes.
Commercially minded, proactive, and target-driven.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
