A foreign bank with an established global project finance platform is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Project Finance team in Sydney. 

The Role

The role will focus on infrastructure and renewable energy transactions across Australia, with hands-on involvement in origination, structuring, execution and ongoing portfolio management.

This is a high-exposure role within a lean and collaborative team, offering broad responsibility across the full deal lifecycle and direct interaction with senior stakeholders both locally and offshore.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support the origination of new project finance opportunities across infrastructure and renewables

  • Play a key role in the structuring and execution of project finance transactions, including bilateral and syndicated facilities

  • Build and review detailed project finance financial models, including base case and downside scenarios

  • Prepare and review credit papers, investment memoranda and approval materials

  • Coordinate transaction execution, including liaison with sponsors, advisors, lawyers and technical consultants

  • Assist with due diligence, including review of technical, legal, insurance and market reports

  • Manage a portfolio of existing project finance assets, including ongoing monitoring, waivers, amendments and stakeholder engagement

  • Support senior team members with internal and external presentations and market initiatives

About You


  • Experience in project finance, infrastructure or structured finance within a bank, advisory firm or financial institution

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and renewable energy project structures, including risk allocation and security packages

  • Advanced financial modelling skills, ideally with direct project finance modelling experience

  • Exposure to origination, deal execution and credit processes

  • Ability to operate effectively in a small, hands-on team with competing priorities

  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with external stakeholders

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business or a related discipline
